Christmas 2015

Before Christmas day ends, I want to write something to help me remember what a great day it has been. Our helpers are off on vacation. So my husband and I are responsible for running our home and caring for our unstoppable toddler. Which means, we're both super tired. We could not manage to have even a simple noche buena last night because our room's on the second floor and we could not leave the little boy by himself. Noche buena's way past his bedtime. We planned to sleep in the living room but our son had other plans. He wanted to walk and walk and walk, perhaps too happy that he was going to sleep right next to all of his toys. We had to pack up and move to our bedroom and let the steak spend its Christmas Eve in the freezer. My family visited us today. They brought food and helped us wash the dishes. But anyone with a kid knows that it always takes extra effort to entertain guests. You have to keep the house clean before the guests arrive and after they leave. T...

Ramblings

Elections are just around the corner and the circus has begun. I think there are more or less a hundred people running for President. That must be the greatest number I've encountered since I started following the elections. I know it's part of democracy but what are these people thinking? Most of them will likely be disqualified as nuisance candidates. I can't quite comprehend why they want to waste their and COMELEC's time.  An uncle is surprisingly running for Mayor in our province. But if he were really serious, he could have at least given us the heads up so we can prepare for logistics, etc. If you really want change and to help our province, then I'm fine with that. But I believe preparation is one way of showing that you're serious about this and you're not just making a mockery of the system. You have to at least show that you intend to fight and win this.  The election is som...

Update

I gave birth 7 months ago and as much as I would love to write on a regular basis, I cannot really find the time to do so. It's been tough caring for a baby and a husband, running a household, managing 2 househelps, and working from home. But I'm not complaining. I think I'm very lucky to be where I am right now, doing what I'm doing. I only pray that God will always keep my family healthy and safe and I won't mind the fatigue that comes with all the stuff I need to do. 2014 was a wonderful and challenging year at the same time. I gave birth in June but I was hospitalized again 5 days after I gave birth. Ang sakit sa heart at sa bulsa. But hopefully, all's well with me now. Just need to monitor my BP from time to time. Hopefully that will not affect my chances at future pregnancy/pregnancies. 2015 did not start out so well. The husband and the baby have been sick. The baby's recovered now but it was so tough to deal with his illness because it was his fi...
